Shailendra K. Chaudhary, B. Comm.; LL. B.; PG-DMM
Shailendra did his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Khalsa College in 1979; LL.B. degree from Campus Law Centre in 1984; and Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing and Sales Management from Faculty of Management Studies in 1985 - all institutions under University of Delhi in India.
Prior to immigrating to Canada in 2002 he had a varied experience in the field of commerce, finance and law of over 22 years. As a lawyer in India he was practicing before various courts in India, both in original and appellate jurisdiction, such as Magistrate Court, District Court, High Court and Supreme Court of India as well as various tribunals such as Consumer Courts, State Consumer Commission, and National Consumer Commission, Central Administrative Tribunals, and other Administrative Authorities.
Between 2002 and 2004 Shailendra gained a comprehensive experience in the legal field in Ontario while working in a law office where he looked after residential and commercial Real Estate transactions, Wills and Estate matters, Immigration matters, Employment Law matters and independently represented clients before Ontario Court of Justice and Ontario Superior Court of Justice in many criminal, civil and family courts in Ontario as well as Immigration and Refugee Board.
The above credentials of Shailendra were evaluated by the National Committee of Accreditation in Ottawa and were awarded the highest possible rating by it at the time and later acknowledged by the Law Society of Upper Canada which fast tracked his call to the bar in Ontario.
Since his call to the Bar in 2004, Shailendra has practiced in the field of immigration, criminal, and civil litigation. In one case he filed a Charter Application against routine handcuffing by law enforcement in Canada the ruling on which was averted by the prosecution by withdrawing the charges. He has also attended a full five week Jury trial in a landmark personal injury matter of Canada in which the plaintiff, 15 yrs. old at the time of accident, was awarded $3.5 million in damages.
Shailendra was associated with Ghose Law Office (formerly Ghose and Malhotra Law Office), a boutique Personal Injury Law firm, since his call to the bar in 2004 (as a full time associate from 2007) up until 2012. Even now he continues to work with Ghose Law Office on some serious injury cases. In 2013 Shailendra has established CHAUDHARY Personal Injury Law Professional Corporation with the continued focus on all areas of Personal Injury / Disability Law.
Outside of practice of law, Shailendra has an interest in the area of health and nutrition. He maintains a blog: http://yrusick.wordpress.com/. In his spare time he is involved in gardening and cooking where he experiments with new ideas for healthy eating.
Shailendra is an active member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association.
